In the summer of 2017, fate led Dennis and Didi to cross paths during a pre-professional happy hour in the heart of the nation's capital, Washington, D.C. Their connection was instant, sparked by engaging conversation and shared dreams, marking the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
As time went on, Dennis and Didi embarked on the challenging yet rewarding paths of professional education. Didi pursued her studies in medical school while Dennis delved into dental school, both at the esteemed Howard University. Amidst late-night study sessions, endless lectures, and demanding exams, their friendship flourished, becoming a source of unwavering support despite the rigors of their programs.
Then, on November 24, 2019, Dennis and Didi took a leap of faith and began dating, transforming their chance encounter into an enduring love story. Together, they discovered the beauty of sharing dreams, aspirations, and a future filled with endless possibilities. Their love story, with God as their foundation, stands as a testament to the extraordinary journey two people can embark on when love is at its core.
In Spring of 2023, Dennis and Didi flew to Italy to celebrate his birthday, however little did Didi know a surprise was waiting on her.
On April 19th, Dennis and Didi decided to visit the iconic town of Positano on the Amalfi Coast for the picturesque views. After grabbing a fantastic lunch at a local restaurant, Dennis and Didi decided to explore the enchanting streets of Positano.
While waiting for a ride back to their hotel, two “random” gentlemen offered to drive the couple on a mini tour of the Amalfi Coast in their Fiat. Didi was hesitant at first, unsure of the strangers' intentions, but Dennis, guided by a sense of adventure and romance, encouraged her to embrace the opportunity.
The Fiat embarked on a journey through the winding streets of Positano, eventually leading them to a breathtaking overlook above the Mediterranean Ocean. The driver shared that this was the most stunning viewpoint in Positano and urged them to capture the moment together. They posed for couple pictures, and Didi even took some solo shots, cherishing the beauty of the surrounding area. Unbeknownst to Didi, Dennis was already on one knee behind her with the ring in hand waiting to ask the big question. After asking Didi to do life together, Didi let out a clear “YES!”
After the proposal, Dennis and Didi took more photos throughout Positano, to show their friends and families the joyous moment. Their love story continued to unfold with a surprise romantic dinner, where Dennis even had Didi's favorite pink roses waiting on her. Their memorable trip to Italy marked the start of the rest of their lives together.
