Things To Do

The Wharf

In addition to amazing restaurants and shops, the Wharf offers countless things to do and see—on and off the water. Take a stroll along the piers, rent a kayak to paddle past some of DC’s most famous attractions, or catch a concert at The Anthem.

The National Mall

The long, grassy National Mall is home to iconic monuments including the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. At the eastern end is the domed U.S. Capitol, and the White House is to the north. It's also flanked by Smithsonian museums.

The Smithsonian Museums

The Smithsonian Institution is the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo—shaping the future by preserving heritage, discovering new knowledge, and sharing our resources with the world.

The National Harbor

With views of Woodrow Wilson Bridge over the Potomac River, National Harbor is a convention center hub with everything from busy outlet mall shopping to a casino and live music at the MGM National Harbor hotel. The waterfront is home to a vibrant carousel and a unique sculpture, plus a ferry terminal and a marina sporting a Ferris wheel. It offers many bars and restaurants, including a painting studio serving wine.

Didi & Dennis Favorite Restaurants

L’Ardente (Modern Italian)

This is L’Ardente, the latest hospitality venture from the award-winning team behind Unconventional Diner. The restaurant reflects the glorious contrasts of Italy itself: haute yet simple; glam yet rustic; indulgent yet restrained. Above all, it’s a destination DC deserves right now, a Mediterranean balm in the heart of the capital.

DLeña (Latin American)

Chef Richard Sandoval presents a modern approach on classic Mexican fare. As featured in the 2022 & 2023 edition of the MICHELIN Guide, the concept celebrates “leña,” or firewood, and the nuanced flavors smoke can impart on both its wood-fired food, and smokey mezcal and tequila-centric menus.

Surfside Taco (Mexican Takeout)

Since opening in 2008, Surfside has established itself as one of DC’s favorite spots for the best tacos, burritos, and fresh-Mex in town. It’s the go-to gathering place for families and friends to relax over margaritas and tasty food.

Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab (seafood & Steakhouse)

The legendary Joe's Stone Crab first opened in Miami Beach in 1913. It all began when Joseph Weiss, the "Joe" of Joe's Stone Crab, and his wife Jennie set up seven or eight tables on the front porch of the house they owned. 100 years later, Joe's has become one of the most beloved and widely recognized restaurants in the world, famous for its Florida Stone crab, signatures sides and Key lime pie.

Swahili Village (West African)

Swahili Village restaurants were born with a bold vision – to embody the rich, cultural tradition of African cuisine, yet serve and plate your experience to fit a modern fine dining atmosphere. Purpose is the same, tradition stays alive, but with a modern, sleek twist, bringing you an unparalleled experience every time you dine.

Our impeccable chef-driven cuisine, extensive award-winning wines and exceptional hospitality are unlike any other steakhouse in America. Our menu features the freshest, most mouth-watering ingredients. Our sommeliers are on hand to guide you through our extensive wine list.
